Clear PPF

About Our Clear PPF

Paint protection film, also known as clear bra or ppf, is a clear, self-healing film that is applied on top of your vehicle’s factory paint. Its most common use is to preserve the factory paint and resale value over time.

PPF is meant to take on the damage your paint would get from wear and tear over the years preserving the factory paint. Whether it is chips from rocks or road debris, bug splatters, pollen, etching from bird droppings, or even minor scratches, ppf helps keep your car looking new. PPF is the best product on the market for vehicles that endure lots of time on the road.

FAQs

Paint protection film, also known as PPF or clear bra, is a thick sheet of multi-layer polyurethane film that is applied to the painted surfaces of a vehicle to protect the factory paint finish. It helps protect your vehicle from rock chips, light scratches and scruffs, bug staining, bird-dropping etching, and UV damage. It has a “self-healing” topcoat that allows for minor scratches and swirls to disappear with heat.

Most commonly our customers decide to go with our Premium Package, which protects the most high-impact areas, or with a full car wrap so that everything is protected.

No, not necessarily. In some cases, like most older model vehicles, it can be better to install bulk than use kits. At Ghost Shield Film we use “hybrid” patterns meaning that our installers go over your vehicle and alter the computer cut patterns so that it best fits your specific vehicle. We wrap all possible edges on the vehicle for the best installation possible.

We wrap all edges possible on a vehicle. Not every edge on the vehicle can or should be wrapped. For example, due to normal panel movement from the car being driven it is not encouraged to wrap film in between where two panels meet. This will lead to the film rubbing and bubbling over time.

Timing depends on what package is being installed on the car, as well as vehicle size and difficulty. A Chevy C8 Corvette has a lot of small pieces that need to be installed on the front end and therefore takes longer to do. Generally, a premium package takes 1-2 days, and a full car wrap takes a minimum of 5 days to complete.

Depending on the car and the ppf package we do sometimes remove parts for better installations. We also typically remove badges for a seamless installation and reapply them on top of the film. It is up to our customer if they would like us to not remove anything from the vehicle during installation.

Helps to maintain resale value by keeping the factory paint job on the vehicle looking like new. The hydrophobic topcoat also makes it easier to wash the vehicle and allow. It also offers the benefit of peace of mind from everyday wear and tear that can happen to the vehicle. We’ve never had a customer tell us they regret purchasing our product, but we have had many who were thankful that they got it!

Our film comes with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty against yellow, peeling, bubbling, and delaminating not caused by normal wear and tear, customer damage, or customer negligence. We also guarantee the installation for as long as you own the vehicle

PPF will not damage factory paint. If the vehicle has been repainted or has touch up paint on it prior to installation then that can be damaged during the removal process. We strongly recommend having a trained professional remove any ppf off of your vehicle.

You can, but it really isn’t needed. The film has a built-in hydrophobic topcoat that makes cleaning it easier. A lot of installation companies see this as an upsell to their customers, but the film is the best protection for your vehicle that money can buy. If customers are not doing full car wrap installations

Yes, a clear bra can be removed. We strongly recommend having trained professionals remove the film as the adhesive can be very strong if not properly heated before removal.
